20 Top Quality Gastronomes, Lecturers Participating from; Malta, Island, Ireland, Italy, France, Spain, Turkey, Japan, China, Thai, India, Croatia, Slovenia, Denmark, Greece, Bosnia and Herzegowina, Switzerland, Mexico, United Kingdom and Chech.
Istria is a treasure/trove of autochthonous gastronomy. Some 20 foreign television, radio and newspaper journalist teams arriving.
16 eminent chefs will be preparing special Istrian dishes, and 10 eminent chefs will be preparing special dishes from Hrvatsko Zagorje. Participants from abroad will try many dishes and specialty for the first time.
With us will be Gissur Gudmundsson, president of WASC, the International Chef Federation.

Dear friends
I started with the wonderful word ‘friend’, a word that has been particularly grand and special to me throughout my life. It is special because it is intended for to those who are welcome and dear to one’s heart and grand because it refers to people I hold in high esteem, people who care for me. This poetic introduction logically leads to the question what a man is without friends. My answer is even more poetic - a river without banks, a bird without a voice, a flower without fragrance, … I could go on and on…
I am proud to be a member of the great gastronomical family of the world. IAGI is a new chapter in the book of my life. You have enticed me and opened this new professional and life chapter for me! You, in your white coats and small or large white hats. Those same people hidden within walls, in small or large kitchens, regardless whether it is hot or cold, whether it is weekend or a working day. Sometimes I compare myself to the dear old bearded man in a red suit, who brings us presents on the best day of the year. He grants wishes, written as well as hidden ones. Can you believe it?
I do. I believe because I know so many dear people who do that every day, every hour and every moment. My dear friends, we are those who bring a smile to hundreds of faces every moment, not even only hundreds but to millions of people all over the planet. We are the masters of a smile and of pleasure. That is the beauty of our profession. This is why we are ready to drink or not our coffee at the crack of dawn before anyone, to leave for home without sitting at a table, to spend endless weekends at work, to do our utmost. We are people without a weekend, but we are a happy, united and satisfied family.
I am extending this planetary invitation to you and I am expecting you in this wonderful country where I live, in beautiful Croatia and gorgeous Istria. As always, I expect you with open arms and an open heart… I will meet you as friends, who I am always glad to see and who are always welcome. Let us show to the world and to all that a white coat is a symbol of unity and friendship. Let us broaden horizons (and knowledge) to those who wish to learn more…
